Carol

“Carol’s here.”  Earle insisted.
“She left him years ago,” Tish whispered to Jude. “Poor, sweet man.”

Earle died; They cleared away the remnants of his life.
They found Carol tucked beneath the floorboards.

Cool flash story.

And what on earth were they doing lifting up the floorboards? They seemed rather suspicious of Earle...which I like.

Oh, I love the dark ending. Very nice take on a fun new prompt for me... keeping it to 33 words is a challenge, and you did a good job. Amy

Thanks for linking up. I love that you've given us an entire story here, not just a scene. It's hard to do in such a short space, but you've nailed it. Note to self: listen more carefully when the Earle's of the world speak. Hope you come back on Monday for the weekday challenge.
