July Fourth

When the explosions end and the colors drip from the sky, we grab our bikes and hit the trail, illegal after dark. Fireflies twinkle among wildflowers. Peepers sing from marshland. Nature celebrates earth.

Fireflies are the best fireworks... I miss them here in Florida.

I like the contrasting celebrities; manmade vs. Nature. Lots of great imagery. The voice of the Land cries clearly, once again. Well done.

Peepers sing...what a gorgeous way to say that.
it seems like the 4th is always a good time to celebrate our country, our freedom and our surroundings.

(I am currently reading your book..OMG! and it's so wonderful, your prose is lyrical.)
